> Musicboxmelodies (musicboxmelodies.com) arranges songs for music boxes. It sells custom music box melodies and printable, punchable paper strips for hand-crank music boxes, and offers a free online composer where anyone can write, play and export their own music box tunes.

Up to 1 minute $40, up to 2 minutes $65, up to 3 minutes $90; 25% off if the tune already exists on our YouTube channel. Custom photos can be added to the strip design. ## The music box composer

- [Composer](https://musicboxmelodies.com/composer): free, runs in the browser (desktop only). A free account is needed to save, load and export tunes.

- Supported boxes and their playable notes:
  - 15 notes: C4 D4 E4 F4 G4 A4 B4 C5 D5 E5 F5 G5 A5 B5 C6 (C major, no sharps).
  - 20 notes (Muro Box M20 compatible): C4 to A6 in C major, no sharps.
  - 30 notes: C3 D3 G3 A3 B3 C4 D4 E4 F4 F#4 G4 G#4 A4 A#4 B4 C5 C#5 D5 D#5 E5 F5 F#5 G5 G#5 A5 A#5 B5 C6 D6 E6.
  - Freestyle: chromatic C3 to C6, for digital playback only.
- Music box rules: only note onsets matter (no durations); several notes can sound at once; the same note cannot repeat too quickly, because the comb needs time to reset. The composer marks those notes as illegal and they don't play on a real box.
- Exports: printable strip PDFs (A4, Letter, one long strip), SVG, MIDI, MP3, and a QR code for the Muro Box app.

## Agent access (MCP)

AI agents can use Musicboxmelodies directly through a remote MCP server (Streamable HTTP):

- Without signing in: list_music_boxes, search_songs, get_song, validate_melody, fit_melody_to_box, import_midi (MIDI to melody), list_products, and create_song (saves a private song and returns a link the person uses to keep it; 5 songs a day).
- With the person's account (OAuth 2.1, the client is asked to sign in when needed): create_song straight to the account (15 songs a day), add_version, list_my_songs, set_song_visibility (asks for confirmation before publishing) and export_song (MIDI or printable strip PDF).
- Authorization: protected resource metadata at https://api.musicboxmelodies.com/.well-known/oauth-protected-resource/mcp; Client ID Metadata Documents and dynamic client registration are supported; PKCE (S256) is required.
